On 3.8.23 I was at 2pm at Mr. Schlüter, a friendly employee of "My second ear" in Munich.
After he had gathered the parts for the hearing aids, he loaded the program onto the computer. This took about 15 minutes. The programming of the hearing aids went smoothly.
Instead of the umbrellas, small "bags" with holding cords were attached to the hearing aids and recommended to me.
He then gathered the additional parts of the hearing aids and handed them over to me.
The wish to call a cab could not be fulfilled, because Mr. Schlüter did not have a telephone. When I wanted to call a cab via my cell phone, this was not possible in the rooms because there was no reception.
Since then I wear the hearing aids and am satisfied with the programming.

Addition to my rating (3 stars, Tom)

I forgot to mention that Widex only offers a 2 year warranty. That is clearly too little compared to other manufacturers and the service life of 6 years. Therefore, I can only further devalue the devices.

Listening to music TOP, everything else - well

After I had deselected the top devices Phonak Audeo Lumity because of their "regulatory rage" (see review 3 stars from Tom), after almost 6 weeks of waiting, the latest Widex Moment Sheer 440 arrived with me.
First, the brilliant sound stands out, music is reproduced crystal clear and a bit too "sharp". I was thrilled, the sharpness can be adjusted down as desired. In all other situations in everyday life, the enthusiasm quickly gave way and I had to realize that Widex also follows the trend of wanting to regulate EVERYTHING - even where there is nothing to regulate at all. I noticed, for example, that the AI intervened even in completely normal conversations in absolutely quiet surroundings and always wanted to muffle something, no idea what it was after. But it was very annoying. The advertised new "pure sound", which was supposed to reproduce everything particularly naturally, failed in my opinion in particularly simple everyday environments.
It also failed in conversations in company and loud surroundings, in that I heard women's voices 2 meters away better than the man right next to me. Switching manually to the "Company" program did not improve things.
I sing in a choir of about 25-30 people. There, too, I was dissatisfied with Widex. The piano was slightly distorted in certain pitches and when the choir sang "at the top of their lungs", the hearing aids went out and distorted. The acoustician thought that the maximum permissible level (MPO) was set too low and, after consulting with Widex, found that it was not adjustable at all in Puresound!
Absolutely unacceptable, however, was the quality of the Bluetooth pairing. When streaming, the connection began to falter after 10 - 20 min until it simply broke off. The sound was miserable, making calls and streaming music was no fun.
The Widex Moment Sheer only has one button, which can also only regulate either the volume or the program selection - also devaluation. With so much negative, the only thing left to do is return the devices. Thanks to MySecondEar for making this possible for the second time without any problems! The acoustician said that we could try Oticon again. I trusted her and got test devices for the time being. The miracle happened - I'll report a lot of good things about Oticon Real 1 soon!

Results and optimism

The initial results give me hope that the listening experience will continue to improve. The devices have so far significantly improved my understanding. With some limitations, a positive satisfaction and expectation is already setting in.
Let's wait and see.

Preliminary assessment (first look/first listen)

by the way: my vanity is really within limits, but "Hello, Rolf" is not an appropriate form of address, but at best inappropriate "Jugendstil".
I have been wearing the hearing aids for 2 days now (as announced, I was on vacation for 2.5 weeks). They are probably still a little too loud, and the lights that should indicate the "on" and "off" when pressing the respective button, do not light up (yet). But otherwise I am very satisfied so far. The "acid test" should come when I'm in company and several are talking at once.
